Aerospace / Aircraft

The Lectroetch process was developed during the second World War by the founder of our company, A.R. Lindsay. As a consulting engineer, he determined that highly stressed aircraft parts were failing due to metal fatigue in the area where the parts were steel-stamped for identification. Mr. Lindsay then established a laboratory for the purpose of marking metal through the use of electrolysis. Mr Lindsay formed the Lectroetch Company to allow commercial and military aircraft contractors access to this new, non-destructive marking technique. Today, all major aerospace manufacturers contractors, and sub-contractors utilize this inexpensive, simple, and permanent method of identifying their precision parts. This type of marking meets all aerospace specifications such as: MIL 130M ATA2000, MIL792, AS478, P23TF3 (7A1, 7A2, 7A3) Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, McDonnell-Douglas, and others.
